Last.fm Simple API

Finally I decided to write a small script that allows users to embed last.fm data on their blog without having to know any PHP - or any kind of server side scripting language. Last.fm Simple API allows the embedding of data that is acquired on the server, and allows you to use your own formatting.

The script is aimed at the numerous emails I get from people who use my current JavaScript last.fm data embedder, and are sick to death of it for one of two reasons:

  • My server is shit slow/goes down sometimes.
  • The scripts don't allow enough customization

With the new script, you can pick the bits of the data you want in the end result, how you want it formatted, and how many bits of data you want. The best thing though, is that it's self hosted; meaning that it will be available when your site is.
